    The 20ft shipping container is the global standard.
    The High Cube variant is 1 foot higher, which can make all the difference for certain types of cargo.
    That extra height gives more flexibility and makes sea containers even more versatile.

    Extra height (about 30 cm more)

    Height: 2.90 m instead of 2.59 m.
    That extra foot allows you to load taller machinery, stacked pallets, or bulky equipment that wouldn’t fit in a standard 20ft.

    Compact but spacious

    Same footprint as a regular 20ft container (so easy to transport and place in tight areas).
    Still offers more volume — about 37 m³ instead of 33 m³.

    Ideal for heavy or dense cargo

    Because it’s short (20 ft), it reaches its weight limit before its volume limit — but the extra height gives flexibility when loading irregular or tall items.

    Efficient for storage

    Commonly used for on-site storage of tall items such as furniture, construction materials, or equipment.

    Fits in places where a 40ft container would be too long.
